It was ten days before the big day and we breathe a sigh of relief as we pack and post the last of the International orders. We could see light at the end of the tunnel. It would soon be Christmas and we would be able to kick our feet up and enjoy a well deserved rest!

We were going to make gifts for the likes of TV duo Ant & Dec, retail guru Mary Portas, well known Dragons Den star Peter Jones and even Keith Lemon

And then the phone rang. A lovely lady apologised for the short notice and asked if we would be able to make 60 individually personalised wooden holly wreaths to be sent out to them on Monday Morning. I said I'll need to speak to the boss, aka my Wife, and agreed to discuss it and call her back. After a chat and waving goodbye to the weekend, I returned her call and agreed to take it on. It was at that point that she told us that the company that she works for is James Grant Media, a London based talent agency and that their client base are well known celebrities. We were going to make gifts for the likes of TV duo Ant & Dec, retail guru Mary Portas, well known Dragons Den star Peter Jones and even Leigh Francis, the man behind comedy presenter Keith Lemon to name a few.


From this point, the workload ahead was lightened by the fact that our creations would soon be hanging in the homes of some great TV, radio and sports personalities. There was still a mad rush to go and buy more wood & ribbon, a long weekend of designing, cutting, waxing and finishing 60 unique pieces, but we worked solidly and tied the last ribbon on at about 1:30 Monday morning, ready to go on the courier as planned later that day as agreed.


So now, when we see the famous recipients of our creations on the TV, we smile, wondering if they will be hanging them up again this year?
